Bringing clarity and structure to strategically important projects in the UK health sector since 2005
- I ensure projects start successfully
- I rescue failing projects
and - I set things up – new programmes, structures and processes.
I specialise in health sector projects that are:
- Strategically important
- Complex
- Multi-stakeholder, multi-organisational
- In fast changing, politically sensitive or ambiguous environments
- Likely to meet opposition or suffer from inertia.
What do I do?
- New projects:
- Ensure a high level of buy-in for the project amongst key stakeholders
- Scope and plan the project so that everyone involved knows what the goals are, what needs to be done by whom and by when, and what resources will be needed
- Lead the project until it is well established and ready to be handed over, or until completion.
- Projects in crisis:
- Lead the project to a successful conclusion or until it can be handed over.
- New programmes, structures or processes:
- Introduce changes while ensuring continued stakeholder buy-in.
This may include:
- Scoping and planning – project briefs, project initiation documents, terms of reference, budgets, schedules, resources
- Writing and editing – business cases, board reports, journal articles, newsletters, process manuals
- Strategy development – option appraisal, process design and planning, stakeholder involvement and consultation, facilitation
- Public speaking, presentations, group facilitation
- Tendering for services – specification, invitation to tender, tender assessment, contract negotiation.
